TIMBER-CONCRETE COMPOSITES: TECTONIC STUDIES

“Embankment as it could be” explores an augmented vision for London’s Victoria embankment and Charring Cross Station. The site’s current raisin d’etre as a multi-modal transport hub is interriogated and ultimately refashioned in a manner which synthesizes the various transport nodes together with a reactivated waterfront and park. Beneath vast timber-concrete composite canopies, the underground station is excavated to reveal tiers of public life into which the surrounding park cascades.
